OUR TURMERIC & CURCUMINE SUPPLEMENT
Our Turmeric & Curcumin is a blend of turmeric root and turmeric extract that provides 95% curcuminoids – the highest concentration available. Some curcumin products use an extract that provides 85% curcuminoids. Curcumin is the component of turmeric that contains all of the beneficial properties. In food sources of turmeric, curcumin only makes up 3%.
To further boost curcumin, black pepper extract is included, which is known for its ability to increase the bioavailability of turmeric. Ginger has also been added to the formula because it has similar and complementary effects.
Take turmeric with a meal that contains fat, as this will further enhance absorption.
WHY IS CURCUMIN IN TURMERIC IMPORTANT?
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is the spice that gives curry its yellow color. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric. Turmeric itself contains a low level of curcumin, approximately 3% by weight. If you want to get the benefits of turmeric, this percentage is too low. That is why our supplement contains turmeric extract and turmeric root, which offer a much higher concentration of curcumin.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BLACK PEPPER
Unfortunately, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. This is helped by consuming black pepper, which contains piperine, a natural substance that increases the absorption of curcumin by 2000%. Our health supplement uses the highest quality black pepper extract providing 95% piperine.
