Our vitamin A provides 5,000 IU (1.5 mg) of high quality vitamin A retinol in a vegetable cellulose capsule.
WHY DO WE USE THE RETINOL FORM OF VITAMIN A?
Studies show that some individuals have a genetic variant that can cause poor conversion between the carotene and retinol forms of vitamin A. For this reason We use high-quality vegan vitamin A acetate in our supplement. This is a type of preformed retinol, meaning it is readily available to the body because it does not require conversion.
WHAT IS VITAMIN A?
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble nutrient that occurs in two forms; carotene and retinol. The carotene form of vitamin A is generally found in plant-based foods such as carrots and sweet potatoes. The human body must convert carotene to retinol before it can be used by cells.
WHAT DOES VITAMIN A DO?
Vitamin A contributes to a healthy diet in many ways. This includes maintaining normal skin and vision, normal immune system function and maintaining normal mucous membranes.
