Vitamin A and vitamin D work synergistically in a ratio of 25:1, which is why we have created a high quality blend of vitamin A and D3 in this ratio (vitamin A 10,000iu to vitamin D3 400iu).
WHAT IS VITAMIN A?
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble nutrient fats, which occurs in two forms: carotene and retinol. The carotene form is found in plant-based foods such as carrots and sweet potatoes. The human body must convert this form to retinol before it can be used by cells.
WHY WE USE VITAMIN A ACETATE
Studies show that some individuals have a genetic variant that can cause poor conversion between these forms of vitamin A. For this reason, we use high-quality, pure vitamin A acetate in our supplement. This is a type of preformed retinol, meaning it does not require conversion in the body and is suitable for vegetarians.
WHAT IS VITAMIN D?
Vitamin D3 is naturally produced in the human body when exposed to UVB energy from the sun. These ultraviolet B rays convert the precursor in the skin into the active form known as vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).
