WHAT IS VITAMIN B3 NICOTINAMIDE?
Nicotinamide (also known as niacinamide) is an amide derivative of niacin. Niacin is converted to nicotinamide if it is taken in amounts that do not exceed the physiological requirements of the body. The effects of nicotinamide and niacin are almost indistinguishable.
Nicotinamide is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract, and although it is still a water-soluble vitamin, it can be stored in the liver as the coenzyme NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide).
