How to prepare a good mate:

Those who have not yet experienced the pleasure of consuming mate, Kraus invites you to try this energizing organic drink. Mate can be prepared with hot water or as a refreshing summer drink called Tereré, served with lemon juice.

Mate Kraus with hot water

Put the water in a kettle to heat, not boil. (The temperature should be about 80 °C.) Be careful not to actually boil it! If prepared with boiled water, the mate will be too strong and the yerba will quickly lose its flavor.

Put some Kraus Yerba mate in your chosen gourd cup and cover the opening tightly with your hand. Turn it upside down and then place it on its right side and remove your hand. This helps the yerba to settle. Dip the straw of the mate filter into the yerba with the filtered end down. If you want to sweeten the mate, add a teaspoon of sugar or honey to it. Once the water is hot, carefully pour it over the yerba mate and let it absorb the herbs until the mate is saturated.
