Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a fungus that grows on the trunk of a birch tree, from which betalic acid is obtained. Chaga does not look like a fungus, but rather a black-orange growth on a tree that is very hard. Chaga thrives especially in cold and harsh climates.
