Arrowroot is made from the root of a plant (Maranta arundinacea), which grows in rainforests. Arrowroot is a high-quality starch. It contains no fat and is very easily digested by our body.

Arrowroot powder can be used as a binder in baked goods, soups, sauces and desserts, has a neutral taste and is gluten-free. In addition, it can be used as an egg substitute in various baking recipes. When baking, you use half the amount of regular binder. This is because the binding power of Arrow Root is much greater.

When using Arrow Root, it is important to first make a paste with water and only add this paste towards the end of the cooking time of the dish. Arrowroot has a huge binding power, but if you let it cook for too long, this binding power is lost.

Use and Storage:

For every 2.5 dl of liquid, dissolve one tablespoon in cold water and then heat to boiling point along with the liquid to be bound. As an egg substitute in baked goods, two tablespoons replace one egg.

Store in a cool, dry and closed place.
