Maca is an adaptogen. Adaptogens are non-toxic plants that help the body. They are supposed to bring us back to a level of homeostasis in the body. Herbs and roots have been used for centuries in China and Ayurveda. They are currently experiencing a boom in the Western world. Maca is produced in three colors. The yellow variety is the most famous, red Maca has the most active ingredients and black Maca is the rarest. Maca has a natural caramel flavor.

Maca is a tuberous plant native to the Peruvian Andes and the only edible plant that grows at this altitude (3000-4500 m). Maca is also called "ginseng of the Andes" and "food for the mood". It was used by the Incas and was considered a delicacy mainly due to its sweet taste.

Recommended dosage:

1-3 times a day 1-2 scoops (3 g) of Maca powder to use in muesli, yogurt and/or fruit drinks. You can add Maca to smoothies, tea, milk, coffee or other drinks. You can also use Maca in desserts and soups. Maca combines well with cocoa products
