What is Sunfiber®?
Mattisson Organic Guar Bean Sunfiber® is extracted from the germinated white seeds of the guar plant from India. The Latin name for the guar plant is Cyamopsis tetragonoloba. Guar beans are a rich source of soluble fiber. Soluble fiber is also known as a prebiotic.

What are prebiotics?
Prebiotic fiber ends up undigested in the large intestine, where bacteria break it down through fermentation into short-chain fatty acids (acetate, butyrate, and propionate). These fatty acids serve, among other things, as an energy source for the intestinal epithelium. Fermentable fibers include those from vegetables, fruits, potatoes and legumes.

What are the benefits of Sunfiber®?
The advantage of Sunfiber® over other prebiotic fibers (e.g. inulin) is that these fibers are manufactured as water-soluble and have already been fermented in the manufacturing plant. This means that the fiber dissolves completely in water and can be easily fermented by the intestinal flora. In fact, the rule of thumb is: the more soluble the fiber, the easier it is for intestinal bacteria to ferment it. To avoid discomfort such as gas formation, it is important that fermentation does not occur too quickly. This is practically not the case with Sunfiber® fiber.

Recommended dosage:
Take 1 tablespoon (5 g) daily with food. Dissolve in water (approx. 200 ml) or other liquid and let stand for a while to allow the fibers to dissolve. The fibers can also be dissolved in yogurt, cocktails or hot drinks. We recommend drinking sufficient water during the day (1.5 to 2 liters).
