Mattisson Multi Magnesium is a blend of 5 different forms of magnesium: magnesium citrate, magnesium malate, magnesium taurate, magnesium bisglycinate and Aquamin® Magnesium.

What is magnesium?
Magnesium is a mineral needed for many processes in the body. It contributes to normal muscle function, plays a role in the transmission of nerve impulses and is involved in memory and concentration. Rich sources of magnesium include cocoa, green leafy vegetables, nuts, dates, prunes and avocados.

Magnesium deficiency is increasingly common these days. Stress can play a role in this, as the body uses up large amounts of magnesium during times of stress. There are also medications that reduce magnesium levels. Complaints associated with magnesium deficiency include cramps, fatigue, constipation, anxiety and restlessness.

Organically bound forms of magnesium
The magnesium variants in this product are organically bound forms of magnesium, which are better absorbed than inorganically bound forms of magnesium due to their high bioavailability. Our daily diet generally contains predominantly inorganically bound magnesium, as these forms are found in the soil and are absorbed from the plants we eat.

What is magnesium citrate?
Magnesium citrate is a compound of magnesium and citrate (salts of citric acid). Magnesium citrate is particularly well absorbed into tissues and muscles, making it ideal for athletes.

Magnesium citrate supports healthy muscle function, supports energy levels and contributes to normal nervous system function.

What is magnesium malate?
Magnesium malate is the binding of the mineral magnesium to the organic malic acid. Malic acid can be used in the citric acid cycle, which contributes to the formation of ATP (energy).

Magnesium malate is well absorbed by muscles and supports healthy muscle function. This form of magnesium also supports fatigue.

What is magnesium bisglycinate?
Magnesium bisglycinate is bound to the amino acid l-glycine and can therefore more easily pass through the blood-brain barrier.

Magnesium bisglycinate is important for the nervous system and contributes to mental resilience and mental clarity.

What is magnesium taurate?
Magnesium taurate is a compound of magnesium with the amino acid L-taurine, which is a substance found naturally in the body. This compound makes it easier for magnesium to cross the blood-brain barrier and be absorbed into the brain.

Magnesium taurate is also important for the nervous system, contributes to mental resilience and mental clarity, supports energy levels and helps with fatigue.

What is Aquamin® magnesium?
Aquamin® magnesium is a multi-mineral complex that is easily absorbed by the body. Aquamin® magnesium is obtained from clean, mineral-rich seawater off the coast of Ireland, which is why it is also called sea magnesium. Marine magnesium or sea magnesium contains magnesium hydroxide. The advantage of magnesium hydroxide is that it can be absorbed directly into the body.

Recommended dosage:

Take 1-2 tablets daily with water. Taking more than 250 mg of magnesium per day (2 tablets) may cause a laxative effect.
