In addition to the essential nutrition in the form of breast or bottle feeding and the unconditional love that newborns receive, it is very important to provide them with additional vitamin K. This is because newborns do not yet have the ability to produce enough vitamin K on their own. For this reason, the Health Council recommends giving infants additional vitamin K.

Vitamin K for infants
For breastfed babies, it is recommended to give an oral dose of 150 µg of vitamin K daily from the eighth day to three months after birth. This is important because babies do not yet have sufficient vitamin K stored at birth. Vitamin K plays a crucial role in bone formation and contributes to proper blood clotting.

Vitamin K1 and K2 drops
Drops are often used to administer the recommended additional amount of vitamin K. A dose of three drops contains 75 mcg of vitamin K1 and 75 mcg of vitamin K2. These drops are based on MCT oil, which stands for medium-chain triglycerides, a type of fat that is easily absorbed by the body.

It is very important to follow the Health Council's recommendations and give children the recommended amount of vitamin K. Regular administration of vitamin K helps children develop good bone formation and blood clotting. Always consult your doctor for specific instructions regarding the dosage and method of administering vitamin K to your child. Recommended dosage:
Give 3 drops under the tongue once a day or mix in a bottle. Before using a vitamin K dietary supplement, consult your doctor or pharmacist in case of simultaneous use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants).
