The flowering plant astragalus belongs to the legume family and is native to China. Only a handful of the 2,000 species have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Astragalus comes from the root of a plant (Astragalus membranaceus) in the pea family. It is also known as milk vetch root and huang qi.
Dosage:
One to three capsules daily with food or as directed by a physician.
