Vitamin K (K1, K2, K3) belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin K1 is found in leafy greens, vitamin K2 in animal or fermented products, vitamin K3 is a synthetic form. Vitamin K2 plays an important role in the proper absorption and use of calcium in our body. This vitamin helps direct calcium to our bones and prevents calcium from being deposited in tissues and blood vessels, where it can cause damage. Vitamin K2 in the form of MK-7 (menaquinone) has been shown to have a much longer half-life in blood serum than other forms and can provide up to 24 hours of protection from a single dose.
Recommended dosage:
1 capsule once daily or as recommended by your doctor, preferably after a meal containing fats, which are necessary for the absorption of vitamin K2. Consult your doctor if you are taking blood thinners.
